I'm am killing myself laughing. Petes30...you don't think I'm sane. Haha haha...truth be told between work and this process I have officially been declared certifiable. When the 1st check comes...imma split it with you so we can have a stash for our bail bond we might need to post.

I actually have to log in here periodically to distract myself momentarily from the chaos at work and partially because I am nosey as h***. AND because I love the spirit that oozing from the excitement of the members here as they progress through each phase of the process. Heck, if I wasn't going through this process..I might just have become a poser/VJ stalker just for the sheer excitment of the capitalized text "APPROVED"...or dwheels throwing out "MOFO" bombs..now although I understood her piss-tifity at the highest level...it was a relief, coupled with mad laughter, to see that someone other than myself want to f***** cuss at this process.

*check stamped CRA CRA 4 real!

Seriously though..there are some on here that are truly longing for their loved ones and to just take a break and laugh takes the edge off a bit. Gotta hold each up because this is some serious a** stuff. Example, Deji who was asked for everything and darn near a vital organ during the interview...poor me would've needed a 5th of Vodka after that!

5th of vodka, crack and pot. I swear that list of questions. OMG. I told D and he was like "I remember you asking me what my brothers wanted to do with their life". Like wow you remember that but my brothers I never said a thing. Those questions were OMG. I would be sweating just because. Too much.

And be a VJ stalker. The fun is when you subscribe to one of those cray cray post "I don;t love my souse but I want a green card". "My baby isn't my husbands". Lord have mercy you can about bet how many posts until its locked cuz people are going to go ballistic.

I love this thread because we have fun and when its waiting time w stay entertained. I just pray now and then you all come back give some status update on your live. Everyone leaves me. Sukie is the only one that has stayed here with me through the dark days back in 2013 (lord that was rough). Remarriage and now wooo whoooo Approval.

This thread has been my saving grace has got me through some tough time each and everyone of you I love dearly and consider you family and I rejoice with all of you as you celebrate your new lives together cuz baby buckle up the party the journey really is just beginning once they hit US soil. :goofy:

Oh, I failed to mention that with all the worry, this was not even mentioned or brought up during the interview. They just took the tax return and the AOS, packed them together, asked my wife a few questions unrelated to finances and handed her the approval letter.

This has always been the Big Monster every year people freak out. es I have seen people having to amend when they go to interview and for whatever reason the CO said they wanted amended taxes submitted (seen it reported twice on VJ). But these couples trust me have other issues Maybe the CO thought they were covering up their married-hood.

Someone had a thread recently where the immigrant wife said the husband has to conceal his being married so he files single will that be a problem. ummmm good grief.

The embassy knows we get confusing wrong info. The tax prepareres have no clue I think people get all mixed up cuz yes without a SSN you can't E-file you ave to mail in. But some think it means you can't file at all.

I have been filing MFS since 2011 with ex husband and this year with new husband. t was funny submitting 3 years worth of transcripts with two different men n them.

But like you said filing status is really not the issue. They (NVC and the embassy) want to make sure you make enough. That's what matters.

I wouldn't worry about it. The IRS has rules for filing for a non resident spouse, which is completely optional and oftentimes not beneficial. I filed as Head of Household because I have dependent children for this one, and for my first marriage I filed as single and didn't have any issues - it wasn't even brought up. With the tax return and the AOS, they're more concerned that the numbers match than anything else.

My guess is that whoever told you that was concerned about "proof of commingling assets" and filing a joint tax return is one way (of many) to do that. However, if your spouse is going to have to apply to remove conditions after arriving here, the tax thing could be an issue (for the tax years following your spouses arrival).

Definitely send an email to the embassy for verification but in the meantime relax a bit knowing that it really shouldn't be an issue. :)

You are so right for those who will be ROC (Removal of Conditions) that filing better say MFJ or MFS. But for embassy unless there is some undercover ish it is okay. :goofy:

Hey guys, I have been a religious reader of this forum but never signed up to give my input. I realize this is a IR-1/CR-1 thread but I couldn't find one for f2a case complete. I am desperately waiting for this process to finish so my husband can be untied with me and our two kids. I had my case completed on the 26th of april and I'm eagerly waiting for a interview date! And congratulations to everyone has received an interview, case complete or visa.

Well Congratulations. Welcome to the group. I have added you to the spreadsheet. :goofy:

This group sure he majority are spouses but I have all Visa category types on spreadsheet. Long as you went through NVC with a I-130 you are welcome here.

I'm in this situation as well, i believe I filed single bc hubby wasn't here at the time and therefore nothing to report on his end however we will have to remove conditions after two years. Can I file differently once he's here for 2016 and would that be ok?

Yes everyone should be amending their tax. You can amend up to years back. Probably get some money back.

So i can take care of that once he's here, but it shouldn't be an issue at the embassy during his interview?
