IKR...worrying about every little thing from not leaving a space/field blank to did I supply enough evidence to a checklist is taxing on the brain. I know I have a long way to get but I promise you if I can just laugh a little bit and not stress myself or my hubby...then that's what I am going to do. And if I never see another form or piece a paper ever again...I will be alright with that. And you are so right, it's doesn't effect you until it affects you!

Yep. To think we doing this 2 years later. Blahhh

Hey guys, I have been a religious reader of this forum but never signed up to give my input. I realize this is a IR-1/CR-1 thread but I couldn't find one for f2a case complete. I am desperately waiting for this process to finish so my husband can be untied with me and our two kids. I had my case completed on the 26th of april and I'm eagerly waiting for a interview date! And congratulations to everyone has received an interview, case complete or visa.

Update: My husband he left yesterday to go to Lagos to drop off his passport at the DHL collection center. That's an 8 hour bus/car ride. He got there to late since the center closed at 4pm. Dang it. :protest:

So this morning he text me good morning said he was getting ready. Text here and there throughout the day. "Too many people, its hectic. Now trouble". Trouble I say, Now he just said to me an hour ago "Baby they rejected the drop off application and passport. Let me call you and explain". :ranting:

My head is swirling I am sick to stomach all a sudden. Now I hear the beats (music thumpin) of his car. No way who is driving my hubbies car.

IT IS HIM. That sneaky man.

With the biggest smile he gets out the car. I knew I just got played. :wow::rofl:

Passport submitted yesterday he got there before 4pm. They gave him the papers where to pick up VISA in 10 days.

If I wasn't so happy and relieved I would kick his butt. LOL (L) Love this man.

That was a terrible prank if I may say so.

Hello Edissa508

What is the medical Form ?? where do you get that one?

The form can be found on this link also choose the country in which the medical will be done by selecting the country in the drop option :

Thanks and shoutout to Shsl73 for helping me with that when I needed it.

This was a HUGE worry for us during our process. For the year 2015, I filed as "Head of Household" despite being married to someone overseas. A few people pointed out that I should have filed as "married" and that I should amend my return to reflect this. It had NEVER entered my mind to file as "married" because my wife was NOT here in the states, subsequently not having a SS # or the identifying number so logic dictated it made no sense to include someone (my wife) on my tax return who was not qualified for ANY benefit in the U.S at the time.

Some people pointed to me that the IRS had made provisions to add a spouse to the returns and file as married even if they had no SS#, but there was one caveat the IRS site did not mention and that is, the provision is made for those spouses who are ALREADY living in the states and are being filed for. Without this caveat, some folks figured it ALSO applied to applicant spouses living overseas.

I went back to my tax folks and they insisted I did NOT need to amend my return and told me what the IRS allowed was not necessarily here nor there with the embassies. They told me they could not or it made no sense to include someone WITHOUT a SS# on my return. So, to end all the worry, I went and asked the question directly of the embassy. As I somewhat expected, I was told it did NOT matter to them. All they cared about was whether or not my return and AOS showed I could support myself, my incoming spouse and my children which they did. They understood that NOT using a filing status as "married" (with an explanation if asked) was acceptable especially considering that in every other bit of evidence, I mentioned or showed I was married.

Now, the key difference here between you and I is that I filed "head of household" which does NOT necessarily imply I am NOT married. Filing "single" implies that, but in these cases, I am not sure it indicates an applicant is trying to hide something. So, I suggest you do like I did and go right to the horse's mouth and ask them. The U.S Embassy in Guyana had an email address where you could contact them and they responded next business day.

This post was really helpful. Thanks for posting because I am in a similar situation but I never thought anything about it since I used a co-sponsor. I wonder if it makes a difference or not.

I had my medical yesterday. Took about 2.5 hours and cost $NZ480 with three vaccinations. 11 more days till interview.

I had mine on 4th and it cost me about $60 with 2 vaccinations. I had to wait in the hospital about 4 hours as it is the only hospital doing medical for visa for all countries.

13 more days for the interview. :clock:

All the best to you!!

Nothing yet. Tooth pulled two days ago, final exams, new job position, and graduation in less then 11 days are kicking my butt. New things happening in my life. Just that, the Queen is not around to enjoy the excitements with her King :cry: I am just praying for a better news from this Journey. I want to feel my baby moving inside my Queen's belly. October is the due date. Anyway, God knows what is best for all of us.

Oh bless your heart. You have too full a plate. But you will be with your wife and baby soon. Baby will not come until ready and you wil get to see baby moving in mommies belly.

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation and new job. my goodness. You are rockin it. Go rinse with some bourbon to kill the tooth pull pin. Ouchy.

best of luck to you! Hope you hear something soon. I was in a very similar boat 13 years ago with my first husband; pregnant with my first child, finishing up my Masters degree, and waiting for my husband to get his interview and praying we didn't get Administrative processing (he's from Morocco). Fortunately didn't get AP (harassed the embassy enough times they put me through to an immigration officer to find out exactly what was needed in order to avoid it) and he arrived in the US 5 hours before I went into labor with our first child (she decided she wanted to arrive 2 weeks early). He met my mother for the first time in the delivery room. Hopefully you'll get to be reunited soon!

WOW what an awesome story hubby running through the airport to get to the hospital. Cool.

Good evening all,

I did my 2015 tax return as single because the person who did it for me said it wont be a problem. I recently realize that i was supposed to do it as married.

Do I need to do an amended tax return before hubby's interview? (I sent 2015 tax transcript to NVC along with all AOS documents back in march. NVC didn't give me a checklist or hasn't said anything about it.)

I wouldn't worry about it. If CO ask your spouse why you filed singe just explain like you just did.

NVC has no control over how you file. Not their concern. Probably more than half of married folk file wrong the embassy knows we are given misinformation they get it. Don't worry about it.

So, I'm not sure if you all know this but the decision about your case is actually made before your interview.

When I had my interview, I was asked about three or four questions and the young lady just pulled out the approval slip and gave it to me. She didn't have to print it out or anything.

My interview was scheduled for 9:00am and my husband and I got there around 8:45. We sat there until 10:35am and then someone came out and had us take the oath. After which, we had to wait another half hour or so. Finally they called my name and instructed which window I was to go to. Got up to the window, a very polite gentleman asked for all my documents and my husband's 2015 taxes. He asked for my pictures, my recent copy of my birth certificate, an updated police clearance and that was about it. He stapled everything together and I was ten printed then told us to sit back outside until I hear my name called. After about ten minutes, my name was called again and my husband and I went into the room. A very polite young lady was gonna be conducting our interview and she asked my husband his name, where he worked and then politely told him to leave the room as she wanted to have a conversation with me.

She asked how my husband and I met, if I thought we got married too fast, what field I plan on getting into when I enter the US, and she looked at some wedding pics (she was more interested in the group pics). She asked me about a few people in the pictures and that was it. She said I was approved and handed me my papers. She asked if I wanted to leave when my husband was leaving and I told her it would be nice but I'm not sure if it's possible. She told me to come back for my passport on the 29th (interview was on the 27th). Went back with my husband on the 29th and they only allowed me inside. Went in, waited about half hour and then collected all my passport and the sealed package.

Overall, it was an amazing experience and when the consulate officers spoke, they were both so polite that the nervousness just vanished. I'm leaving next weekend so I'm hoping my port of entry also goes as awesome.

Congratulations. Great review. Mercies Journeys to you both.
