Alright....so I mailed out everything the CO asked for and now I just await their review of the docs. DHL told me the embassy will get the packet on Tuesday so (hopefully!) we get our passport status on CEAC as "issued" soon. :)

Thank you so much for your continuous words of encouragement :) Just when I feel down, there is ALWAYS som1 on VJ who picks me up!

On a funnier side, I laughed at myself when I got back in my car after I finished at the DHL office today bcuz I instantly thought of you and how you're ready to throw them 'bows when things seem to get sticky.

I had made arrangements early this morning (before 8:30am) with the DHL Customer service rep who assured me that the packet came into Trinidad and was at their office awaiting delivery instructions. I asked her to hold it as I would be coming in personally to handle that AND the other docs that the embassy wanted. Since she learned it was for the embassy she put it as a "priority pick-up" so the couriers would not touch it at all.

I left work at 3pm and braced all the highway traffic and finally arrived at DHL compound at 4:10pm....I walked in, showed the guy at the counter my ID and said I'm here to pick up a package that came into Trinidad this morning.

He just stared back at me....blank....no words for maybe a minute....then pointed at the door and said "If yuh see d sign on d door, it say no collection for packages dat come in dis mornin so come back Tuesday".

So I told him I was there to collect an embassy document (making it sound so "official" like lol) and arrangements were already made to have the packet ready for my collection by a lady name Jenona (unique name) this morning.

The guy repeated the same thing. :ranting:

I think that's when I got to the point of making world news like you  I think I flipped out bcuz I became a bit aggressive towards the guy and said loudly that there must be a misunderstanding since the lady made arrangements to hold the packet for me and he should at least check the computer before trying to show me a sign posted on the door.

All eyes on me now....my Lord....I did not care tbh....the guy was not being helpful and sounded like a broken record.

I finally composed myself and said that I did not appreciate being run around like this since the embassy chose DHL a their sole courier service due to the efficient and prompt service which they offer.

THEN....the guy asked "Is ah envelope....like a piece of mail?" I said that it was.. .......................he had the nerve to tell me "Well why yuh didn say so from before?" :wow:

That's when I think I went batsh*t crazy :girlwerewolf2xn: I said to him "That was what I said when I came up to the counter but you're busy on your phone so the customer requests are being handled half-a**ed."

Well.....I am certain that he won't wanna see me again in DHL for a while!:rofl:

Now that right there...it definitely headline news worthy!!! That's right...sometimes you have to be a tad bit aggresive and not take no for an answer. And if your traffic is anything like Atlanta Georgia that alone will instantly put you in a foul mood and couple that with hot weather!! Amazing what one can turn into....

I hope that you ended your conversation with a smile..that would've killed him even more! And good for you for not just turning away and allowing another day to separate you from you husband and Your FAMILY!!

I would love to quote some TUPAC right about now but...I'm going to just leave it...but I promise I am singing in my head!

*not a girlwerewolf...LMAO.

**PSA (public service announcement)...By no means am I promoting violent behavior!!

And we thought that the "checklist" bit would be over after the interview!

If you are anything like me, I triple and quadruple check everything when I'm packing for a trip....Lord help me for the day when I have to pack for me AND my kids for our new life in Florida! I gotta make a checklist for that day to remember clothing, shoes, vaccination records, school records, my education certs, paying the green card fee (lol), etc, etc, etc!

Yeah I like to double and triple check things at times. That's why I like to prepare ahead in hopes of not forgetting anything
