Approved in Kingston today. Only two questions asked ,to my husband how many kids we have and to me when did migrate to America. Then he said approved pick up passport in one to weeks but my husband spoke to the CO and we getting in back Friday. Like Debbie always say front load your packages. No request for additional documents not even 2015 tax documents

Good morning everyone, how long it takes when visa date is schedule for nvc to send email with appointment information?help anyone.

APPROVED today, just came back from my interview, had the appointment at 9.30 and I was out by 10am !

Didn't ask for anything, pictures, deeds, bank account ... nothing ! just few questions about what I will do when i get there.

In addition to what Amadia said, I think each consulate designates a certain amount of interview slots for each visa type. Once those slots are full, you wait for the next month's scheduling. Unfortunately for us, not everyone going through the visa process is on VJ so we don't know exactly how many people in our visa type are ahead of us in line also waiting for an interview to be scheduled.

Yesterday, I saw a couple of people posting that they called NVC and learned of their interview date. There's no harm in calling to find out if yours has been scheduled. They may say they are waiting on the consulate to provide interview availability. On the other hand, if the consulate already has, NVC may have started scheduling and just hasn't scheduled yours yet, or they have.

I know that's a mixed answer, but no harm in calling and asking. Don't stress though because whether you call them or not, they will still schedule your interview. I got my appointment letter email almost exactly 24 hours later.

What airline gave you issues? My husband is set to travel this Thursday evening, arriving here Friday!! . I know of at least one other person who had problems boarding their flight from Nigeria last year, even though they arrived to the airport way before departure time. Not sure if it's because they're accidentally overbooking flights, but that worries me.

So I'm thinking to tell him to be at the airport at least 3 1/2 hours before. I'll also probably do online check in for him Thursday morning, just to be safe.

The issue for Nigeria is the ticket counters close hours before flight. Most were closed at 8:30 and 8:45 with flights leaving after 10pm.

I could understand if I missed y flight. There was a woman there Saturday who didn't eve know her flight was the day before. Now that you should have to pay. but my flight had not been called to board.

I had changed my flight twice while in Nigeria and my United person booked the first leg (Lagos to Frankfurt) with Lufstansa. Anyway it all worked out and they only take US $$.

Long as he is at ticket counter on time. And Lagos weights your carry on. Purse, backpack. luggage. I had to pull so much mess out and hubby had to take back with him.

So, I thought I would post my experience today after calling NVC. I understand that it has been rather unclear how they schedule interviews and when. At first I thought his answer cleared it up for me but now I am still a little confused. Maybe I put too much thought into it.

Our case complete date "officially" is May 16th even though they told me verbally on the 13th it was complete. I received the email this morning, May 23rd, stating that the case is complete and we are in the queue for interview scheduling. Being the Makulit that I am, I decided to call anyway and see what the status says in the computer. The agent tells me the case was complete on the 16th, we are in the queue but that they have finished scheduling interview for the month of May. They will not resume scheduling until June 1st. My response was, "so you are saying I should not expect any further action until June 1st at the earliest ?" His answer was yes.

Now the part where I think too much: After hanging up I thought hmm... did he mean they are done making appointments which will take place in May or are they done taking any action in May that will result in a scheduled appointment sometime in June or July? I think because of the way I worded my question and his response that it must mean the latter. Which would explain why most of the case complete dates from the first half of the month result in scheduled appointments at the end of the following month and case complete dates after the 15th or so result in appointments scheduled for the first week of the month after that (in our case probably early July).

To add to the frustration with this ...when I look at USTravelDocs available appointments for Manila embassy there are over 150 open slots for June. I guess I will have to wait until we get the July date and try to move it up.

No you posted in the correct current thread. The previous month is always closed because that month is done. We always roll over any the start of new month and the title reflects the month of interview scheduling. Keeps us all together.

This might help the confusion. All embassies are done with June scheduling. July scheduling should start usually the last few days of the month and continue until slots are filled. Or they run out of applications. Your Ma 16th Case complete was way after scheduling was closed for the month.

And even though you see spaces available doesn't mean spaces available. More than likely all those spaces are for visitor visa, student visa or K1's or others who get to schedule themselves.

Hopefully you will get a July date so hang on. And es you can always request an earlier date doesn't hurt to ask Cancellations happen all the time.
