the mail saying they had received the I-129F form, would be the NOA1. Or were you referring to an email?

You should have received an email along with a physical one later.

Also, you probably shouldn't refer to him as "boyfriend" :goofy:

If you have the case number, you could check the status https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

If it's on there you should be fine I would think.

I think we've ran into an English usage issue. Mail generally refers to a physical letter. He apparently received some form of electronic communication of his case status, an email or text message. Eventually the letter should get to him. If it goes over 30 days, he should contact them, verify they have his address correct, and ask them to resend it.

That's OK with English, we'll try to work through it when we help you, but we might need to ask a few questions to understand on occasion.

USCIS doesn't have deadlines unless they say so. And no he can't call on the weekend.

Here's a link to the times he can call.

You suppose to receive NOA1 in the mail. If you check the message they send you with the case number it will state that if you have not received your NOA1 within a certain time and that should be shown on the message they sent you, then you need to call the number they provided you with the message.

I mean when you check your case online, you will see your case information and a phone number to call in case you did not not receive your hard copy of NOA1 in the mail within certain time.
