When considering public charge, they are not allowed to consider Medicaid (except long term care), hospital bills, WIC, Food Stamps, etc. Public charge can only consider public cash assistance, and institutional long term care.

Also the OP is asking about immigrating, not a visitor visa, which can be denied for immigrant intent.

Read the OP's original post. She was denied entry on her visitor visa and got a 5 year ban. Why do you think she got that?

She was denied entry because 1) her visa was invalid; it was voided due to INA 222(g) when she overstayed, and 2) failure to overcome presumption of immigrant intent due to previous overstay as well as having boyfriend in US.

She was removed after denial of entry, and the first removal on arrival triggers a 5-year INA 212(a)(9)(A) ban.

Depends on the airline. I travelled at 7 months no issues. Also have had friends on a birth board ravelling until 38 weeks. Delta lets you fly until you deliver pretty much too.

Then why are people always saying don't take Medicaid, foodstamps etc on here?

Medicaid is not a substitute for Travel Insurance.

She will only know for certain what waivers are required when the Consulate has assessed amy immigrant petition.

No harm having a consultation with a Lawyer to review what issues could arise and whether it is more logical for him to move. Immigration is a 2 way street.

We self paid for childbirth.

Officer said I was to go to Disneyland, not to give birth and raise her.

I actually have felt this was coming, I asked boyfriend to marry me and made it right but he didn't want to so that brought heartache over years. So this makes him feel guilty and want to do the right thing for me and baby.

I gave up great jobs in year 2014 when he had to go back to usa, so that I could make trips to visi and pursue the relationship.

I actually would like him to come live with me better, but his work is in USA.

Thailand it is.

Umm no public charge is any money or benefit given by the government. Try and argue with me because I already called to see what kind of insurance my fiancé could get (not looking for Medicaid) but I need prices for when he gets here so he has the money....the first thing they told me was in order to get any benefits at all for immigrants you have to be here at least 5 years. What do you think the support forms are for?

WIC doesn't count in that as its legally given even to visitors or illegals too.

Each program has its own eligibility requirements. Medicaid in some states is only available to permanent residents after 5 years. This has nothing to do with what things are considered for whether a person may become public charge, where only public cash assistance can be considered.

Then each state is different because Social Services explained to me that an immigrant is not eligible for food stamps, cash, or Medicaid/FamilyCare. WIC I don't know about because it's a different office. They also explained that if he has any kids they are nite eligible for childcare funding by the state. He has no kids but. I am in NJ so it may be different for each state. They also explained to me the only way a person who is an immigrant would be eligible for anything is if they were disabled. I wasn't asking them for food stamps or anything they just decided to lay it all out for me so I didn't have any other questions. New Jersey is kind of strict though.

They didn't mention WIC that's a different office here.
