NOA1 - NOA2 current wait-time is 3 MONTHS?!

Yeah I called them after about 2 weeks and the guy told me to wait 35 days. I got my packet from the consulate before my fiance even received the confirmation from the NVC saying they had sent it. Hope you hear something soon!!

Wanted to clear something up here. I don't know if California still does it or not, but way back when Texas was still receiving applications there seemed to be a noticeable difference in the length of time it took approved cases to actually be sent out from the service center to the NVC. Texas was pretty fast at this, for all their slowness.. but California could take some time.

In addition: when you call the NVC, it is their standard line of telling you to wait 35 days. They just want you off the phone. Despite this, typically it won't take 35 days (unless something is backed up or California is slow to send it out), you can keep calling them as much as you'd like. Once the case is at the NVC it usually takes a few days to a week or so to move on unless there is an issue.

Also: never expect the NVC to ever send your fiancé a confirmation letter in a prompt fashion if ever at all. Some people never receive them. Some receive duplicates, and some receive them well after they have their visa.

The one two I have spoken with charged flat fees, I decided I didn't need one in the end either, but they better not be charging people per hour.

Have you phoned in for your case number? I was on the 7th and have mine already! Although my fiance isn't going to get the letter until the 9th, I think he said?

No. A standard issue 35 day wait is what they will tell you on the phone. It is not really reflective of anything. It might be, and is often there much sooner, or in some cases can take that long. It all depends on how fast CSC sends it out and how fast the NVC looks at the case. You can call the NVC as many times as you want or can afford the long distance.

They've seemed pretty backed up, I didn't call until the 25th. They mentioned that they had just gotten our case that day and to call back on the Friday. I called again Tuesday, then again on Wednesday! So our case number was received on the 27th. It's in transit now to Montreal too!

Yeah, we just called the VC and they're saying the same thing. We have to allow them up to 35 days from NOA2. We'll try again next week I guess lol

This thread is more than 7 months old, the processing times back then have no relevance to your case.

I'm fairly sure that you send your petition to the Texas Lockbox, not Texas Service Center.
