Green card arrived...on my maiden name :(

Hello! My green card has finally arrived after all the CR-1 process and we couldn't be happier but it's under my maiden name despite we filling all the USCIS forms under my married last name.

My question is: could I still have my DL and SSN issued under my married name regardless of the name printed on my GC? If so, how should we proceed?

Any help is much appreciated. We've read about it but we can't seem to find consistent info on that matter.

I would keep things in your maiden for now and change it during ROC.

To have your SSN issued in your married name, you will need to produce a legal document showing that is your name, minus that you're out of luck.

It's not as simple to have your name changed during ROC as you would still need to produce a legal document showing a name change during that process.

Embassies and Consulates will often issue the visa in the same name as the name that is in the passport, even if the applicant uses their married name on the forms. The green card will be issued by whatever name is on the visa regardless of what name was used on the forms.

Could be K1 AOS - you can put down your married name on the I-485 form without having to change the passport...

My GC and my SSC has my maiden name printed just like my passport as well. I was able to change my name on my SSC later at the Social Security Office with no fee. They only needed my birth certificate, marriage certificate, passport and green card.
Then I took my new SSC and applied for a state ID card with my married name.

So the only thing that still carries my maiden name is my GC (and passport of course), and I did a research on that. It is not a must to change my name there so I have decided not to because you have to pay quite a bit for that. I think I can apply for neutralization 3 years later upon my arrival date so I'd better wait.

I just want my all other documents printed with my married name for convenience sake in the meanwhile so that I do not have to change them all after neutralization.
