Finally got the hard copy of the RFE yesterday, requesting husbands birth cert/translation and his i94. However, we already sent these. Our lawyer pulled up his file to double check and seems to think that uscis "misplaced" copies we sent...does this actually happen?

Also, how long does uscis have to respond to the RFE documents we are sending? I mean, do these really screw up a case and add a ton of time to them? The RFE gave us 90 days but it's being mailed tomorrow.

Last thing! Does anyone who uses the iPhone app "uscis case tracker" know if it will update when the RFE is accepted?

1)First Master Calendar Hearing: Sept. 9, 2015-Continued based on pending i-130, new court date in 6mo.

Congressional Inquiry: Dec 8. 2015

2)Second Master Hearing: March 9, 2016- Removal proceedings terminated w/o prejudice based on approved i-130!! Remanded to USCIS to begin AOS process :dance:

Notice of missing medical exam: July 2016 (Done on purpose to avoid expiration, we will bring it to the interview as stated in notice)

Inquiry about case status: Sept 2016- Case pending interview at local office.

Inquiry about case status again: Oct. 2016- Due to factors not related to your case, anticipate a delay in processing

Yes it does actually happen. Our RFE was for our marriage certificate that was sent with the initial petition.

It took 2 weeks from the time they received the RFE to send our their decision, not sure how long it is taking now.

Seems RFE is a very common thing.

I received an RFE for our I-601 waiver for something that has absolutely nothing to do with the waiver. They received it March 25, 2016. Still waiting.

I've been tracking and monitoring waivers and RFEs. Over half of the waivers I track received RFEs. It seems current processing times once RFE answer is received is 2 months. USCIS is working at a very slow pace.

I hope you don't have to wait that long. Its very frustrating! Good Luck!

How do we know when Uscis receives it? Do we get some sort of update or did you guys track it via postage tracking?

There is also an App you can download - USCIS Case Tracker you can use to check your case status and allows you to do a search of case # around your to monitor processing.

I have this. But I thought it wouldn't update concerning RFE things. Thanks! That makes me feel better

Noooo, We would pay it twice over lol. It's been a year long process just to get to the 485 and not having two incomes hurts.
