Hi there,

I'm a Canadian citizen and I've been living in the US for about 4.5 years on a temporarily non-immigrant basis. For the first 3.5 years on a J1 Visa and the last year on a TN Visa. On my first TN Visa, I met someone and we arranged to get married, but at the same time as we were about to get married, the company I was working for went bust, and somehow I ended up getting a subsequent job offer from another company.

Would getting married soon after arriving on the second TN Visa be a bad thing i there was lack of clarity about where we would eventually settle?

Thanks

No, it is perfectly fine to get married and stay on the TN visa if you are not yet sure you want to Adjust Status and become a greencard holder.

TN is a non immigrant visa, like a B or the VWP.
