Relationship Evidence for Interview

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know if I (the beneficiary) will get my documentary evidence (pictures, letters, emails, etc.) back from the consulate officer after my K1 Visa interview? Or do they keep this?

Also, I've bought a multi-file paper holder to organize the papers, but does anyone have any advice on how to display the photos because I'm assuming the officer will want to read the dates on the back in the easiest way possible.

I got ours back; but could be embassy specific. It was outside the Visa packet envelop when I received my passport back.

I collage photos and encoded date/ place it was taken with the photos. Those printed ones we tape the left side on a paper so the adjudicator can easily flip them, 2 photos in one page. We just used double clips on our docs arranged according to our cover letter with contents list.

For me, the officer kept 3 pictures, tax returns, bank statements, employment letter. He gave me back the rests.

Usually they keep it.

Print them on a blank sheet of paper and print out descriptions beneath.

Great thanks for the advice. Also, Right now I have in one organizer everything organized chronologically per visit so first the boarding pass, then the hotel reservation, then tickets if there are some, then the photos. In my other organizer, I plan on separating Skype chats, emails, logs, and wedding plan discussions.

Do you think it's alright to organize them both this way? Or would it be better to just have one folder with photos, another with tickets/reservations/boarding passes, and the last organizer with the ongoing communication?

Don't count on getting anything back.

Consider plastic sleeves for photos after you tape or print them onto paper.

Organize materials so that you can readily grab and present them upon the CO's request.
