I have known this couple for years through the woman. Just one of those unfortunate decisions people make not understanding the depth of the repercussions.

GOD has been WONDERFUL!!!
CR-1 (for Husband):
09/15/2012: Got Married
09/26/2012: Mailed I-130 from Nigeria( delayed by customs)
USCIS stage ( 66 days)
10/12/2012: NOA 1
12/17/2012: NOA 2 (case was transferred to NYC office 11/27/12)
NVC stage ( 20 days)
01/08/2013: Case # and IIN assigned ( file arrived NVC mail room 12/20/12)
01/09/2013: AOS invoiced and paid, DS-3032 emailed and mailed.
01/16/2013: IV invoiced &paid. AOS & IV mailed in one package(arrived 01/18).
01/28/2013: Case complete!!!
04/19/2013: Interview; APPROVED!!!!!
05/13/2013: POE; JFK

N-400: (3 months and 12 days)
Filed N-400 : 2011-06-17
Interview: 2011-09-27
Oath Ceremony: 2011-09-30

IR-5 for Mom Entire process took 5 months exactly

So when he aaplied for a visa he did put down his wife and children and that they lived in the US?

If they didn't slap him with a lifetime bar for multiple lies on his applications his children may be able to petition him. IF the wife ( or is she still an ex ) may have Issues with the history of lies avoiding making it appear she used someone else to get here but that her intent all along was to reunite with her Nigerian husband. No wonder Nigerians suffer from extra scrutiny with fools like this thinking they are smarter than immigration.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

his credibility is zero...the rationalizations for lying are pathetic ('I forgot', "I was advised"...)..a person who lies and lies and lies is not going to win over a CO anytime in the foreseeable future....his voluntary departure is now firmly ensconced in all of the consular computers around the world...trying sympathy ('my kid is getting married') futile....COs do not like liars...period. Visa shopping, combined with lying, only demonstrates desperation and a willingness to thumb one's nose at our regulations and laws...and people like that are not good visa candidates, and it won't matter what silly invitation letters he tries to present, or any tale of woe at not being able to attend the wedding of some adult child, etc....an attorney will only enrich him or herself by writing letters that have as much value to a CO as two week old newspaper.....same for phony invites to some 'business conference.'...I mean really...COs working in third world countries have seen and heard it all....he does not deserve a second/third or fourth chance....habitual liars do not change their own character overnight....(or ever, for that matter)...

She said he claims he denied any contact, relatives in the U.S. during the airport interrogation ( maybe to maintain consistency with his Visa application or inte)nse pressure from the mobile court got to him?

He was issued a letter stating he is being sent back because of "discrepancy" noticed in the responses he gave in his Visa application and at border and was offered voluntary departure.

I have requested to see the letter if possible.

Complicated mess. Why he would claim a wife and kids in Nigeria when there isn't is beyond me.

My friend understand she cannot petition him but was wondering what could be done about him attempting to visit again if possible.

She can petition him, might not be successful, if it is a long and expensive process and she would need to Lawyer up.

Can not see him ever getting a Tourist visa, he can apply anytime he wants.
