My finace lives in Costa Rica and i put down his exact address for our K-1 visa but i also know that the way the mailing happens over there isn't the same as in the US? I'm just scared that he won't receive it or that it won't be sent exactly there? does he recieve at his house or do they have it at el correo de Costa rica then just send us a paper saying to come pick up?

The beneficiary won't receive any notifications from USCIS, just the petitioner. You don't have to worry about the address. When the US Embassy in Costa Rica approves your visa they will ask you in what office from correos de Costa Rica you want the beneficiary's passport to be delivered, they will give you a phone call or you can track it online when the passport is ready to be picked up, you just need your Costa Rican ID( cèdula)

After you get the NOA2 you will need to call to find out if NVC has received the package from USCIS, it would take some days for them to assign a number and later on you can check if the package left NVC in the website https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

When the US Embassy gets the package from NVC and process it,they will email the beneficiary/ petitioner or in my case both the package with the instructions for all the paperwork ( vdrl test, lung X-Ray , vaccine records, physical examination, criminal record, single status & birth certificates, divorce decree, translations, passport pictures, etc)

After you complete all the requirements you can set up an appointment for your interview and bring the documents requested .

You are very welcome.

Everything went great with me( I was well organized with the paperwork so it helped a lot!) I was just very honest and bold about all the questions asked( short answers and not providing more info that what was asked) . One thing I was not very happy with was with the waiting time the day of the interview ( I was there for over 4 hours with my current husband and our toddler! ) Other than that, the interview went great!

We just finished our K1 visa in Costa Rica. Other than putting the direction of our apartment on the paperwork, nothing was actually ever sent or received here at our apartment. The packet 3 was via email, and we brought all documents directly to the embassy. Anything I wanted/needed from the states I shipped via DHL and just picked up at the office near me.

Our experience at the embassy was very pleasant. We were there about 3 hours in total as there was around 5-6 other people there. We were very organized and had everything they wanted, they allowed us both to interview and the entire interview process was only about 5 minutes before they told us congratulations we are approved. We were really happy to see they have a small kids play area in the waiting room, which really helped as we had our 3 year old daughter with us.

The only issues we had here in Costa Rica with the visa process was the Registro Civil giving us the digital birth certificate for our daughter, it took us 9 trips in total and having to argue with a manager to finally get the correct document. Also if you need a recommendation for a Spanish to english translator send me a PM and I will send you the number of the lady we used as she was super kind, fast, and less expensive than all the others we called.
