Information about relative - I-130 Form

Hi everyone,

In section C of I-130 form (Information about your relative (continued)) question 17 asks to list spouse and children of relative.

I am petitioning for my husband (relative). Does that mean that I have to list myself in question 17? Wouldn't that be redundant?

Thank you for your advice

Yes list yourself. It is redundant but the form is very general and meant for other family type immigration also so its covering all those.

NOA1 - 12/21/15

NOA2 - 04/18/16

NVC Receive - 04/29/16

NVC Welcome - 05/13/16

DS-261 - 05/14/16

AOS, IV PAID - 05/27/16

DS260 done - 06/10/16

Case Transferred to US Embassy in Riga Latvia at the end of October.

If you really want it, you'll find a way!

And within the same section C question 15, that is the relative's name and address of present employer?

it doesn't say "relative" so wanted to double check

Yes I know I almost did the same thing. Yes section C, question 15 is in the right column which is for the relative. I agree its confusing!

You will find yourself answering the same question asked in many different ways in this process. It's frustrating.

Golden rule - always answer every question exactly as it is asked. Don't try to read anything into it. Don't ignore any question, even if it has been asked and answered many times before.

I've lost count of how many times I have given my date of birth already. It must have been asked 8 times already...

Thank you very much, guys!

You can't imagine how helpful your answers are.

The form is indeed confusing, especially since they are not clear without specifically indicating whose information are sought, the applicant's or the relative's.

Many thanks again!
