Notice to Applicant Regarding I-693 (K-1)

Just received a letter in mail from USCIS stating that my husband did not submit a completed and signed I-683 with his AOS application. It says if we receive an interview notice to bring it then. If we do not require an interview we will receive an RFE with instructions where to send I-693. Do not mail documents at this time. You will be required to submit a valid, completed, and signed form I-693 at a later date.

Okay- what happened to the one given at his point of entry? We pd for his medical in Dec 2015- so now we have to see a Civil Surgeon and pay $$$ again?

Should we call the NCSC 800# they gave us? Will they really be able to help?

Sometimes those guys lose documents; they might have lost your medical stuff. OR the guy looking at your case wants to see the I-693 and doesn't care about the DS-20something.

Seems like from the letter, you gotta get this form.

What we did was we found a civil surgeon that was willing to fill that form out for a $50 fee. He copied the vaccination info from the copy that his doctor gave him when he did his medical in his country. Didn't have to redo medical (and should not have to by the way...don't let them tell you that).

Thank you. Yes, I believe on Monday I will be making some calls to see the best $ for this Form. Since we have not been forwarded too our local office I'm figuring they are just nt going to look for it.

Did you submit a copy of your DS-3025 with your petition? You physical in JA has nothing to do with your AOS, they can ask for another physical. Anywho, ur K-1 physical expires, so be prepared uo complete the I-693.

Yes, we submitted a copy of his DS-3025 with the AOS. The K1 physical exam lasts a year or 6 months? Either way though I guess they want another one done. Looks like it depends on the person processing the applications as to what happens. Thank you for your input.
