DS-156K/Police Check

We currently have the first packet from the embassy in London. All of the paperwork is filled out, however the DS-156K asks that the "Police Certificates" be attached. Is this the same as the Police Check that is listed in the received packet as required for the interview? If so, must we wait to return this packet until we have received the Police Check? I hope I am mistaken and that they are not in fact the same thing otherwise we're hanging onto this paperwork for a while longer... thanks!

I'm pretty sure that you are correct, they are the same, and it is needed at the interview.

and speaking of police records...i'm confused about their validity period. i've read on VJ that they are valid 12 months, 6 months, and 3 months...

what's the deal? do they have different validity periods depending on what county you live in?
