Question about some evidence for marriage for I-751. I got tax return transcripts from IRS mailed to my house. They are just printed on standard paper, and there is nothing special about it, no official stamp or seal or anything to show it was printed by the IRS.

Do I have to certify these somehow or get some fancy official stamp or something on these? Why i ask, is because I see a post here:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/283723-i-751-evidence-submitted-with-form-is-insufficient/

The person in that post said the got a letter from USCIS saying this:

"You submitted photocopies of Credit Cards, a copy of your 2008 and 2009 tax returns, (which are not official transcripts), nor are they stamped by the issuing authority)."

QUESTION #1; So, am I supposed to somehow find a way to make the transcripts from the IRS "more official" to meet the demands of USCIS?

QUESTION #2; If we have people write affidavits about knowing about our marriage, do we NEED TO INCLUDE that persons Social security number in the affidavit? That seems like something most people will not do if they need to put their Social security number.

1. Transcripts from the IRS are sufficient.

2. Affidavits are considered weak evidence. I would not bother to include them.

Good luck!

IRS used to stamp them with date / they quit doing that last year / immigration knows the offical transcripts

OK, but now should I send the copy of transcript I got from IRS, or can i make a copy of it and send the copies? Doesnt USCIS say you should always keep originals, and send copies instead?

I think, the copies will just be fine. Since, they do not ask for the officials of that type of documents - like you mentioned...
