My fiancé had his medical exam last week, and as far as we know everything went okay. However, they refused to give him any vaccines, since they are technically not required for entry on the K-1. I even had him ask at the doctor's office twice, because they would be cheaper in Haiti and I also didn't want him to get them all at once. (He's never had any immunizations before.) They just gave him the immunization form and told him to get them in the US.

His interview is on April 28. I indicated on the DS-160 that he would get his vaccinations at his medical exam (based on other advice I saw here on VJ). But now he hasn't gotten them; will this cause a problem at the interview? Will it be a problem at POE? Also, what is usually the cheapest way to get vaccines in the US? Could he go to my local health department?

Many local/county/state health departments will offer cheap (sometimes even free) immunisations to unvaccinated individuals. It's in their interests for people to be vaccinated, and so they help make it happen.

Call around and find out.

It won't be a problem at interview or at POE.

You may be able to go to a ordinary family doctor in Haiti and get them but if not, you are correct, most health depts here do them free or cheap; I know in our local it costs $5 per shot.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
