nice! I liked those too. Every once and while I get to thinking about getting an old car again. But I really don't have the space to keep it. I saw an old MG Midget convertible, which I always wanted and never bought, and started getting a bug about it again.

Need new tires for the ole CR-V

We prefer the elegant British spelling of "tyres," GodSavetheQueen man.

WCG (World's Cheapest Gringo) does the following, WCG man:

For his vehicles, he buys used tyres at flea markets or wherever same are sold, he man.

They're acceptable to him if they have Many% (2x2x2x2x2%) or less tread left, squint man.

He installs these tyres and runs them till they're bald, get money's worth man.

If he fears failing State Inspection, he replaces them with better ones, temporary man.

After passing inspection, he promptly reinstalls the old tyres, get money's worth man.

Only if one blows out does he look for another tyre, get money's worth man.

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
