K, so I've been having a charity weekend today :P

First I run the nightly run at the airport's runway (we were collecting money for children's cancer charity), and I just came home from a men's cancer event, when I donated some of my hair ;)

To be perfectly honest - I HATE running :P

But when I saw there was a nightly marathon planned in my city's airport, I decided to celebrate my 40th birthday and do something crazy :lol:

For two months I marched/walked/run/scampered circa 64 kilometers to prepare for it.

The time for my distance (5 km) was 50 minutes. That's easy peasy, for even a fast walk (well, for me :P )

I was third from the bottom in my category, with a record time (as for me) 41:12 :D I'm so proud of myself!

Thrilling Sunday report, see man:

We got to bed at Many (2+2) a.m., truncated zzz man.

Awoke at half-past-Many a.m., groggy man.

Wrangled Many laundry loads, all done man.

Dished the warsher, can de-dish soon man.

Mrs. T-B. left for gym & studying shortly after we awoke, bye she man.

We entertained Mini-B., bachelor time man.

Mrs. T-B. returned at 2 p.m., return she man.

One minute later, it began raining, wet man.

Forecast was for "scattered heavy downpours," yeah right man.

It rained for Many hours until Many (2x2x2-1) p.m., including monsoon periods, wet man.

TV weathermen completely unapologetic for blowing the forecast, :bonk: man.

We are highly fortunate to have mowed the lawn yesterday, relief man.

We had a couple of errands to run, but shall blow them off, optional man.

Accordingly, we did not leave the casa at all, perfect Sunday man.

In addition, we arranged our wardrobe and made our first Many lunches, chores done man.

This temporarily concludes this thrilling episode of us, the party animal, stay tuned man.

I wonder how well a living roof might work there.

I've been in peoples' homes that are built out of bamboo and nippa, and they are fantastically cool. Also the split bamboo flooring feels great on bare feet. Without air conditioning, this is really a great was to live there, plus the mosquitoes there don't seem to fly higher than 3 feet which is how high they build these off the ground. The downside is they only last about 5 years and you need to build a new one. Also the dang things are fire hazards. The stove is an open fire on a cement slab in the kitchen, with a wood chimney!
