Hardly metric yet extremely useful. The metric system is measuring for dummies, as smart people have no problem converting.

Every country has weird stuff like that. For example, Norway moved to an English style of numbering where you count by tens, femti = five tens, but not Denmark....

50 is halvtreds, which basically is a really archaic way of saying 2 and a half times 20. French has that too with 90 being 4 times 20 plus 10, but at least theirs has a basis in the modern number system. Halvtreds doesn't really make linguistic sense anymore.
