Hello y'all! I flew here under k1 visa married in Kauia, Hawaii and now I'm having a hard time getting a "marriage record" online. Marriage record is one of the requirements of "REPORT OF MARRIAGE". my 1st question is: Is Marriage Record and Marriage license is the same? 2nd question: what website I can get my Marriage record? Thank you!

By the way, I tried Hawaii.gov online I can't find a marriage record in there only marriage certificate. If anybody knows these things your comment is appreciated!

You want the marriage certificate. Marriage license is usually what allows you to get married. Marriage is officiated, marriage license is signed, signed marriage license is turned into government, who then generate a marriage certificate.

Typically when you apply for a license, you will give it to the officiant that married you on the day of the marriage - they sign and fill it out, and either they or you will return it to the county clerk of the court in which you married. You can then go back to the same place you obtained the license and request a copy of your marriage certificate. This usually bears most of the info that was on your marriage license and has a seal of some kind. See here: http://health.hawaii.gov/vitalrecords/how-to-apply-for-certified-copies-of-vital-records/

Thanks for the info, I already have a marriage certificates. All I need is marriage record, and yes I will check that website. I should be able to order it online.

Can you tell me why you need a marriage record, by chance, instead of a certificate, which you already have? If you want it for AOS, a personal photocopy or another official copy from the court should suffice.

There is no marriage record in the USA, that in an error on the consulate's web site. Follow the next step for the marriage certificate, that is the only record available in the USA. I can only assume someone copy and pasted the record comment, edited it to say marriage certificate and forgot to delete the original. BTW, don't expect the original to be returned, I know they never returned ours.

I want it for my requirements of "Report of Marriage" to Philippines they need my Marraige Certificate, Marriage Record and etc. I also email the Hawaii Philippine Consulate if they will accept my Marriage Certificate because I have a hard time getting the Marriage record and this is what they responds ;"Ma'am, a marriage contract /certificate issued by the State of Hawaii is required for report of marriage. It can be ordered online via hawaii.gov.

Hope this helps. Thanks."

I don't think they know a Marriage Record either. I just send all my documents without the Marriage record thing will see how it goes.

Thanks to you! I think your right, cos I tried to email them about it, but they only responds about the Marriage contract/certificate which is weird. I have all the requirements except the "Marriage Record" I will send it and I will see how it goes. They should update their website cos they make people crazy!

I think those instructions came from the main consulate, as they all have the same error. It's obvious there is Philippines' system thinking involved in them and zero consideration of how things are done in the USA. It appears they converted to CEMAR to a "Marriage Record", with the thinking all countries must have an office like the NSO.

I got married in Hawaii. We have our original that got posted to us a month after the wedding but will be requesting a "certified copy" for my NVC process (if they ask for it) and interview. I couldn't find anything available more official than the certified copy which you order off the vital records site. I just googled "copy of marriage certificate Hawaii" and it came up for me

Got married: 26th Sep 2013

Service Centre: NEBRASKA

NOA2: 3rd Aug 2016

Petition sent to NVC: 18th Aug 2016
