F1, marriage, travel ? (split thread)

Hi ,



So i am a F1 opt visa holder and the opt expires on 29th sep 2016. Me and my bf we have been dating for a year will be getting married sometime in Aug 2016. We are also travelling to India to meet my parent in june-july. Do you think we will have a issues while filing for my AOS after we get married in Aug because my last entry to the usa is so close to the date we decide to get married on?


Do we have to wait a certain amount of time before we decide to get married? Also will i be allowed to be in the country legally after 29th sep 2016.


Will i be able to allowed to work on my current EAD card ?

So you are planning to leave in june or july 2016 to India and come back on F1 and than get married and do AOS i august 2016? If yes, than I would think it is a fraud as you will come here on those visa with intend to adjust. You can get married now and do AOS. I think when your F1 is expired you cant come here unless you have valid visa.

Well getting married is not fixed yet, we are just seeing our options ideally I would like to do another study program to extend my visa and then see how things go between us
