I can't believe what the OP posted......Check out the immigrant laws of other countries.....I am in Ukraine, police certificate and medical are bare minimums for TRP. I think it has just as much paperwork as U.S. filings.....It just moves a little faster, I don't think they have a huge number of applicants

Sorry but that petition has no substance.

Medicals and police reports are necessary and no visa will ever be guaranteed. That is not even doable and must not change.

Ties to the home country are and always will be crucial and if it's "a little bit hard" for some people then they must accept the fact that they can't go.

The USA must protect it's borders and screen who comes in, it is not an open door for all.

What you should do is draft up a complaint of what's been going on at Ghana embassy and send it to the specific addresses mentioned in the threads.

This should be your personal experience or if signed by a collective group, their experiences as well.

You need a deeper understanding of what the issues are and what you wrote makes no sense, sorry. Life is never that simple.

I just wanted to come back and give you a simpler example of your petition.
Say you have a home. And in that home you have a family with beautiful innocent children. Say one day a stranger knocks on your door and tells you he wants to be able to come into your home and hang out for a while or possible live there. You know absolutely nothing of this stranger but he assures you that he is perfectly healthy and is law abiding and you should just take his word for it.
But when you think about your beautiful family you can’t help but take precautions. You don’t know if this person has the flu and will spread it to your kids. More importantly, you want to be sure that this person is not a wanted criminal and is trying to use your home as a hiding place from the law. Or even worse, harm your family. So you tell him that you would consider letting him in if he can get proof of his medical and criminal history.
So this person tells you that he would be happy to provide you with proof but the medical and criminal background but it cost $50 each and since you did not take his word he is clear he wants YOU to pay for the background checks.
That is what your petition is requesting. And since it is the US immigration, multiply that by millions.

So I'm trying to figure out your metaphor. So, the home owner represents Native Americans circa 1600 and the stranger represents diseased White Europeans who were fleeing criminal prosecution in their home countries. Okay, yup, works for me.

I think you'd get a lot more support for a petition asking to remove the ability to AOS from visitors - tourist visas, VWP, etc. By removing that incentive, they could relax the burden of proof potential VISITORS need to meet.

The reason tourist visas are hard to come by in some countries is NOT the legal process of AOS from VWP/tourist visas but rather the illegal act by many to use their visas to enter the US and stay ILLEGALLY.

I guess my question for you is, why should the American tax payers pay for YOUR medicals and police clearance? If not the tax payers, who is going to pay for it?

Secondly, how can a visa be guaranteed just because you spent $1000 on police clearance and medicals? Then every Tom, DYCK and Harry who wants to get a green card will simply get a medical and police clearance done and claim that he's now entitled to a green card regardless of whether his application is legitimate or not. Do you see the loophole in your argument?

Moving to the U.S. is not a right even if your family is here. It's a privilege and you are expected to work for it.

Now if it's a petition about fixing processing times I'd sign up for it. If they are short of man power they should effing hire more people and if they'd like to charge me more for my K-1 or AOS or ROC I'd gladly pay them so at least I know they will process my paperwork on time.

Nope.

The Native Americans didn't have a democratically elected government that can make and enforce laws and protect them. We do.

Seriously, dude???

OK, I'll bite.

Even if the US was 100% Native American the same safeguards would be put in place by today's standards.

Do you not see the other members telling the OP that medical and police clearance is the same fundamental requirement for their respective countries?

Thanks for all the comments and I even expect more to come in.. Let me make it clear here, I didn't get enough room to write all I wanted to say on the petition site. I will never request for medicals or police clearances to be stripped off.. All I was trying to say is, iv applicants after being interviewwd and granted a visa(hopefully) can then proceed to undertake the medicals whiles the embassy holds unto the visa until it receives the reports. In the other way round where applicants are made to undertake the medicals and given all those shots. It all goes waste if they are unsuccessful. I know more than anything that immigrating to the U. S is a privilege and not a right but a lot of things do happen in this immigration process. If really America is a nation of immigrants as it claims it is, then there should be a more viable way of ensuring that families are united rather thank the current system where most genuine families and couples are treated as fraud. It's a lot to say but I guess I just have to leave it here.. Once again thank all for the comments.. I enjoyed the bashing though ?

Dear friends,

I wanted to let you know about a new petition I created on We the People, a new feature on WhiteHouse.gov, and ask for your support. Will you add your name to mine? If this petition gets 99,999 signatures by May 21, 2016, the White House will review it and respond!

We the People allows anyone to create and sign petitions asking the Obama Administration to take action on a range of issues. If a petition gets enough support, the Obama Administration will issue an official response.

You can view and sign the petition here:

http://wh.gov/iAenX

Here's some more information about this petition:

Visa laws must be changed to allow for family unity and tourism in the U. S

Current U. S immigration laws states that for a person to qualify for a visit visa to the U. S such a person must have strong ties that will compel them to return back to their home country after the duration of their stay. Such a requirement is a little bit hard to meet for majority of the visa applicants and in return they are refused visas. Also, with the immigrant visa applicants, they are made to undertake medicals, get police clearances all without any assurance of being issued with a visa. Immigrant visa applicants pay huge sums of money to undertake these medicals and police clearances and in the long run can't be promised if the visa will be issued or not. Also, consular officers should not be given the sole power of issuing U. S visas. Most at times that power is abused.

Make sure you have someone who can write more professionally for you. "Such a requirement is a little bit hard to meet for..." This is a no-no in professional writing, dear.

I'm probably too pessimistic but I have little to no hope of any of these online petitions actually making a lick of difference. It's basically the very bare minimum someone can do to raise an issue or fight for one. Imagine how convoluted the US government would be if they actually discussed any of these petitions- even the ones that reach the signature threshold- that took anyone with a computer 10 minutes to write.

Wow, I guess I shouldn't be too surprised at these responses, but damn... sounds more like a political facebook flame thread than anything constructive.

This process, which I'm sure nearly all of us have undergone or are going through, can bring a TREMENDOUS amount of stress and pain, as most of you well know. That in and of itself should make you even more amenable to understanding the desperation that goes in to petitions like these. I wrote one myself to try to get one going for Canadians to be able to come over like VWP countries with no chance of AOS and just got ripped by people clamoring about my entitlement.

Yes, there are problems with the petition as it is stated. No, it won't kill you to be tactful, logical and objective in explaining why.

Then again, maybe I'm asking too much...
