I've been looking around the VJ forums for a consensus on this. I'm considering sending receipts to show that I've been regularly sending remittance to my fiance. I figure it would support the fact that we have a bonafide relationship, as well as support proof of an ongoing relationship. However, I've seen mixed opinions on whether this is a good idea or not.

Some argue that it might hurt the idea of a bonafide relationship because it implies that the beneficiary could be in it for financial gain. Others say it helps because it shows that the petitioner cares for the well-being of his/her fiance enough to help support them. Both sides make plausible points, which puts me on the fence.

I thought it might be best to pose the question specifically to the Philippines forum, since the Embassy might have a specific take on the notion of financially supporting your Filipino fiance. Should I send receipts of remittance? Do you think it would help my case or hurt it?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I included all copies of financial help to my fiance now wife when we where processing her K1 Visa.

This was 2-3 years, I also gave her an extension on a couple of my credit cards and once a while with my permission she will use it.

I sent copies of those bills too....

Receipts alone is not a basis to show your relationship, it is one of many.

As stated already - not really needed or necessary. Pictures, chat log, emails and such get the job done.

Send your fiancee a copy of your G-325A ... that will be helpful for her to know details about you and answer questions at the interview.

Already figured that it wasn't necessary. I also already intended to send everything else mentioned here. That was a given. What I wanted to know is if anyone thought it was a bad idea to include it. I would instruct her not to present it unless she was specifically asked if she had anything else to offer as proof. I've also read posts here where people claimed the CO specifically asked if they had remittance records to show, so I figured maybe it might be something she might have on hand in case of such a contingency.

Bad idea? No. I know of some couples that did include them. Needed, as in icing on the cake, to get the visa approved? Nope.

That was nice. Must have been a big relief for her to have you there with her during the interview. Wish I could do the same, but can't, unfortunately.

I never included the remittance I sent to her as it was never asked for or needed at the interview. If you find comfort in including it then include it. Never heard anyone get denied because they sent money to their beneficiary.

I've never seen anyone on this forum penalized by the U.S. Embassy Manila for submitting remittance receipts. However, I have seen them asked for by the embassy.

Personally, I front-loaded my remittance receipts into my I-129F packet.
