ew. i actually stopped watching wrasslin when the greatest, mick foley, 'retired' in two thousand something. i guess he came back at some point but i had already lost interest..long live socko.

yeah but i don't think it was alcohol that killed him. steroids or something similar.

Yup, his heart was enlarged because of his past drug and steroid abuse and there were some other issues with his heart that went undetected and some weak blood vessels.

While what Benoit did was horrid, he loved his family and expressed and showed that many times, which made it all the more shocking. The things severe brain damage from all the bumps he took and dementia can do to you....and then you have those who say it's all fake. Yeah, it's predetermined, but those guys take some serious bumps day in and day out. I always saw it as a form of art - especially the more high flying technical style. I hate the "look at me I'm a big monster" style.

Mick Foley is amazing. But he too, did so much damage to his body it was time for him to take a break unfortunately. He comes in as a guest though from time to time and was even in wrestlemania several weeks back along with shawn michaels and stone cold...those were the good ole days...I can't tolerate watching most of it now, I only watch the big ppvs.

Ahhhh...the Attitude era of Monday Night Wars will never come back I'm afraid...it's all gone downhill once they got WCW out of the picture and ended up with no serious competition, now it's just mostly a very stale product that pushes the wrong people. For example I will never understand why they ended the Undertaker's wrestlemania streak for Lesnar...that was something that should have been saved to give a big push to an up and coming star, not one who already is a star. Ridiculous.

I also always liked Kurt Angle I think he's an incredible wrestler, and, despite the heat Paul Levesque(Triple H) gets for being where he is due to his relationship with Stephanie, I think he is a darn good wrestler and deserves to be where he is. He may not be very technical, but knows how to tell a story in the ring better than anyone. Great psychology.

My wrestling "good ole days" were with Capt. Lou Albano, Classie Freddie Blassie and The Grand Wizard. Used to love watching the old WWWF on the local UHF station on Saturday mornings. Chief Jay Strongbow was one of my favorites along with George The Animal Steele, Haystacks Calhoun, Bruno SanMartino, Stan The Man Staziak and Rowdy Roddy Piper. I remember back when they had the old NWA in the south with Rick Flair, Harley Race and Nick Bockwinkle.

I haven't watched any wreslting in about 15 years, not nearly as good as it used to be.
