Hi All,

I had an appointment FP at Houston on Tuesday 04/19 for my N-400 application but the office was closed on Monday and Tuesday because Houston had a historic flooding. I went back the next day is today for the FP but the officer refuse to take my bio. I call CS and they said I have to wait they will send me new appointment in mail. I asked how long but they do not know. Anyone has experience about this? How long I should wait (1,2 or 3 weeks) before I call them back.

Thanks for your advice.

If you're in a hurry you can try another Application Support Center in Houston. If not, or if you try and they don't let you, you'll have to wait. It could take a few weeks, but if you don't have the letter in a month, call them back. That's just a suggestion... you can call whenever you want but give them a reasonable amount if time to reschedule and mail the letter.

I should also say that there may be a policy in place across all ASCs in the city to turn away walk in customers because of the backlog. You could call first.

Thanks for your advice,

Till today I am still waiting for the FP reschedule notice, my case status changed to "in line for an interview". I have not been taken FP yet, why my case is ready for interview?

Thanks.

I would make an infopass appointment.

I don't know why you've been placed inline with no biometrics.

It's very possible that there's something going on that I don't understand, but in a few very rare cases, applicants have had an interview scheduled and then been told that they have to wait for fingerprinting and a background check after the interview. Again this is very rare.

Officially, if you have been fingerprinted by USCIS in the past 15 (or perhaps 18) months, then you don't have to do it again, but every applicant I've seen (except some military or military-spouse applicants) have had to go through biometrics again.
