Moved To a Different State & Field Office Question (Applying for ROC First Week of May)

Hello everyone,

I just had a couple of quick questions.

1. I got my conditional green card in July 2014 when I was living in Florida. I moved to Virginia July 2015 and submitted the address change form within 10 days of moving. I will be apply for removal of condition first week of May... I was just wondering how does the immigration officer here in Virginia know about my AOS case that was processed in Florida two years ago (Is my file transferred up here or something)? Since the officer in Virginia might not be familiar with my case, does this lead to a higher change of an interview for ROC? It would be great to get through the ROC process without an interview.

2. Does the field office do the biometric prints?

Thank you for the quick response.

Also, my driver's license expires in July this year... are the DMV's aware of immigration procedure enough to renew my license with the I-797 I would get when I apply for the ROC?

It depends on the state or city you're in. Some DMV offices are aware, some aren't. It can be quite a hassle. Good luck!

Thank you. I have another question for you if you don't mind. Hope you get this message.

I am eligible to apply for ROC on April 30th. I was thinking of sending an application in on May 2nd. My parents from my home country is visiting us for the first time and all of us (my wife, me, and my parents) are going to my Master's graduation and visiting Niagara. Would you recommend to wait till after the trip to apply on May 21st or just apple now? All we would have in extra pictures. I guess I could include the trip itinerary with all four names applying early.

Anyway, please let me know what you suggest. I see that VSC is really backed up and don't know if I should just apply now or wait.
