Those of you going through A/P did you pay for the visa in advance? if so did the interviewer say where your papers would go after that? I am confused because my fiance got a DHL paper he payed $48 for the visa in advance from what i heard his papers go through A/P then they do more security checks then after he goes through that the visa will be sent to him. Where do they conduct the security checks? And i was confused also because on his DHL receipt it shows his delivery date on the day of his interview his passport is being sent from the Embassy to his house. So when in this time does he get the security check? I might have to contact the Embassy. I read on here a while ago after the interview all papers go to Washington DC where the background checks are done then they sent his passport with the visa after that's finished to him. Is this right does anyone know thanks in advance.

Aj1 if he paid a fee it is usually the courrier fee for the visa once it is ready to be delivered. I know in Pakistan depending on the CO some take the passport, make you pay a courrier fee and give you a receipt or token with a number on it. Others will just give you the AP documents and say they will contact you once they are ready to proceed with your application (they did this with my husband and he had to go back to the embassy when they ajudicated).

AP is done via security checks and in some cases investigator go to the neighbors, family and friends to check out the person that has applied for the visa. Security checks do come to Washington DC and once they are completed the results are sent back to the consulate. The CO will then review the information and make the decision on whether to ajudicate the visa at that time or require more investigations. Once they are satisifed and all checks have come back cleared they will send the visa out via the courrier that has been prepaid.

Hope this helps.

Mary
