Hi All,

My Fiance had mentioned that her parents must need her to go to hometown to obtain single status,they were able to get notary birth certificate...She was never married...Any advice?

Hi All,

My Fiance was told that she needs to go back to her hometown in China to get the single status notarized.

She needs to give her finger print,any advice on this will be greatly appreciated.

Any other advice on all of the white papers that anyone can send me,it will be appreciated.

I'm not sure why they would send her back to her hometown, my fiancee had the documents prepared in the city she lives in, which is not her hometown, and we are approved, she arrives Monday to the USA.

I think maybe she is registered as still living in her hometown,not her current place of living in China??

I mean I guess I can understand it, if we lose out birth certificates, we need to get them from the city of our birth as well.

She called the notary in her hometown and they said they don't do this anymore for the single status certificate

Has anyone else had this issue?

I think she needs to push on this a little more with the notary. It is still required by law in China that all persons wanting to marry must submit a signed and notarized certificate of marriageability.

Have her ask them for a dan shen zheng ming 单身证明 (Single Certificate), however if she was married before and now divorced she will need the documents proving that she is divorced.

Thanks for your feedback.She has traveled back to her hometown where her hukou is registered,the notary there told her they were having computer system issues but told her to go to the neighboring city,which she talked to and they said they can do this.

So she is traveling to the neighboring city today to go to the notary....wish us luck!!!!

Thanks.....The notary forms on the way....she made Payment online to Citic bank got a receipt number(Funds removed from bank account) on April 21 but no P4(The email says once schedule interview download package to prepare the necessary documents,is that the P4???) with medical info...locations ect.....Are we missing something?Is this the P4 package.....downloaded online?
