Thanks Greenbaum and Hank for the guides; I will reproduce my interpretation of our next couple of steps and appreciate confirmation or guidance.

Wait (again) at least 5 business days and politely call asking for the NVC#.

After receiving this number, we are able to go to BPI bank in person and pay the visa application fee using that number and the forms described in the guide links.

The next day, we should be able to schedule the US Embassy interview online.

Did I get that next step correct?

Yup you get it correct. Once you have your MNL# you can take your passport, the deposit slip you printed out and the cash to BPI - pay the fee then way roughly 12-24 hours before trying to schedule your interview online. ;)

Yup. But currently others are reporting its about 3 weeks before NVC gets you into their system and can issue the MNL#.

The five days you mentioned is pretty optimistic. Be prepared to wait longer than that. However, once you finally get your MNL case number, you should most certainly pay the visa application fee, schedule the interview, and complete the medical.

The K-1ers who wait for the NVC to send them their MNL case number are wasting precious time. Those who wait for the U.S. Embassy Manila to notify them that they are eligible to schedule an interview are wasting even more time.

Keep on calling the NVC. If they tell you to call back in two weeks or four weeks, ignore them and call again the next day.

13 business days for our MNL number. I will say that the people at the NVC are much more pleasant to talk to then USCIS ;) They will say 35 days, just call back again the next day.

We had a hard time finding the K1 visa option on the interview scheduling page. It was placed under the immigrant visa option.

Hi everyone!

Read some responses and just want to ask something.

Is packet 4 the appointment letter? Also, there isn't a need to bring with me the appointment letter to the embassy?

Thanks everyone! :)

Forget about "packets".

Everything you need to know is online

Follow the flashing arrow below in my signature for details on the K-1 process in Manila.

Follow the embassy instructions letter for what is required for the interview.

There is a link to the embassy instructions letter within the link below in my signature.
