Hi,

My dad is the joint sponsor for me and my now wife in our K-1 visa process. In Form I-864 part 5; sponsors household it asks to provide the amount of people sponsoring in the affidavit (1) and then list persons NOT sponsored in the affidavit (1 for myself and 1 for the optional in item nr.7 "if you have siblings, parents or adult children with the same principal residence who are combining their income with yours by submitting form I-864A) My wife and I currently live with my parents, did we insert the correct amount of people (a total of 3)?

Are you talking about your I-864 or the joint sponsor's I-864? You would each have your own. Or are you confused about what a joint sponsor is versus a qualifying household member that submits an I-864A? I am not sure who filled out what.

If dad is the joint sponsor, then you as the USC petitioner/sponsor = own I-864, dad = his separate own I-864, and if the mom has income to combine with dad, then she would = I-864A to go with dad's I-864.

If you used dad as a qualifying household member to combine his income with yours, then it would be you = I-864 and dad = I-864A to go with your I-864. The household size on your I-864 in that case would be 3, the USC sponsor, the immigrant and the dad supplying the I-864A.
