IR5 for mom HELP ( Ghana )

Hi everyone

I filled and i-130 for my mom and I just received the 1st NOA. I know this takes a while to get approved,( read anywhere from 2-6 months) so whiles I'm waiting, I want to gather all the documents I will need for the next step at NVC. So I need some help with these questions.

1) wht are all the list of documents I will need to send in to the NVC.( from what I ve read,

police records,

birth cert of me and mom,

dad's dead cert.

Is there anything else I'm missing?)

2) Do I need to send in only the originals of the doc or only certified copies or both. I'm confused because I ve read different things

3)I ve read where u have to submit biographic page of passport, but I dnt have my US passport yet, I used my naturalisation certificate. So do I have to get a passport?

4)my mom is in Ghana, so anybody in Ghana that has gone through this, when is the right time to get the police certificate? If anybody can share light on what they did, I'll appreciate.

5) will my mom have to fill out any forms or sign anything when we get to NVC? If so will it be OK if she signs and scan it to me to print out here?

I knw this is a lot but I will need some help son i can be prepared when.we get Approved

1. Yes you need all the docs you mentioned above

2. You'll need to send NVC copies of civil documents and original AOS and financial docs

3. Mom has to send biographic data of passport. I guess with you the naturalization certificate should be fine. maybe a question for NVC

4. Ghana police cert usually expires after 6 months. you can get the police cert just when you're about to send the docs to NVC but remember by the time of the interview it would have expired and you'll have to get a police certificate. something to keep in mind

5. there's no doc for your mom to sign for submission to NVC so far as i remember
