Thanks to all of you for your input. Yes we did send in the correct paperwork (personbevis 120) I even talked to the American embassy in Stockholm and they told me to tell NVC that they (the embassy) refered to the reciprocity schedule were it clearly says that swedens birth- and marriage certificate is called personbevis . I talked to NVC yesterday and the guy I talked to said I could just scan the paperwork again and email it to my husband, he could print it and send it in again. And so he did. NVC will recieve it on thursday and counting ahead it will be the same date as if we would have waited the 42 days but at least we know that by sending it in again they cant say again that it´s missing.

Hej! This is my first contribution to this forum but I saw your post and it is ssoooo similar to our situation. We have a priority date about two weeks after you AND are submitting from Sweden/Skatteverket AND received that same letter about resubmitting the birth certificate and marriage certificate that everyone else copy/pasted.

We completely empathize and sympathize. The only thing we did differently now is request the Swedish version from Skatteverket for my husband's personbevis. We previously requested the English version. We could only suspect that whoever was reviewing our case did not see the term "personbevis" as if they work from some type of checklist, and maybe the official extract in English was assumed insufficient because it does not state that thaat is exactly what it is. So now we're ordering official english translations and submitting both. That is an option for you two if they STILL have trouble. Please keep us posted, as we are in the exact same boat. Did you send two copies /versions of the personbevis previously? One shorter with just the civil status and one longer containing spouse's birth and parent's bio info? Just curious. Let us know if you here something!

Hi

I can see this is an old post but I am soon to begin submitting all my documents to send to the NVC and I want to be sure I do it right. What exactly was the mix-up? I dont understand.

But am I safest to have every document be apostille certified as well as have the non-english documents (belgian police record and my danish birth certificate) officially translated by a translator?

Is there an overview of the specific document requirements for the stockholm embassy anywhere to be found?

Thanks
