So I am currently living in Japan (will return to the US with my wife after she receives her visa) and am a bit confused as to what address I should put down for myself in the petitioner section of the DS-260 form.

So it asks for my information, what address should I put down? The one I am currently living at in Japan? Or my address in America?

Thank you in advance.

From what I understand unless you have some sort of approved hardship reason for filing DCF it's not available in Japan.

Thanks for your concern but my I-130 for DCF has already been approved and we're working on the second step which is why I asked about the DS-260. We got approval back in November because of a death in my family and the inheritance issue it causes. Unfortunately due to my father's illness and some other unforeseen circumstances we just recently were able to gather the last of the documents we needed for the second half of the process, this is why I am filing the DS-260 (which is what we saved for last).

So with that said...do you know the answer to my previous question? I've e-mailed the NVC, but haven't gotten a response yet. It makes me nervous as its taken me 5 months and the process for DCF is usually only given because of an emergency. My situation is an emergency still, but the urgency changed after I got approved and also it took a lot longer than I thought it would to gather the documents I needed. Which is why I really want to file this DS-260 and get the date for my second interview already.

Sorry for the rant!

Thanks again for your response.

I'm not an immigration attorney but generally one of the requirements for filing DCF is you hold residence in the country you're applying in. From what you've said you're living in Japan so I would use your address there in Japan.

Hopefully you can get this finished soon considering as you said it's been 5 months since your I-130 was approved and you're working on an emergency basis.

Good Luck!
