Hey All,

My wife finally got her K-3 visa from the consulate in South Africa. She is coming to the States soon and would like to start putting her life together. The first step is to get a job. Before she can do this... she needs permission. I have to form filled out and the fee money ready so my question is this... how long does it take for her to get permission to work? She is not in the States yet which means that she has yet to use her visa at a point of entry. Can I file her working papers now before she enters the US? If not... what do they expect people to do for however long it takes to get permission to work? Thanks.

yeap, she can't apply for EAD until she has entered the the US and "activated" the K3 visa. It'll be at least 90 days from the time they receive the application til she gets the card.

They expect her to sit on her ####### and watch daytime TV and eat bon bons all day. That's pretty much what I did. ;)

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!
