Hi Guys,

Quick question: How would I know if our case has been transferred to California? We submitted our app and it went to the National Benefits Center. Our local office is Tampa, FL. However we received a RFE 2 weeks ago and the letter said "please send reply to:" and it was USCIS, AOS Unit, Los Angeles, California.

So does this mean the officer working on our case is in California? We never received any notice we were being transferred...

In our case, Carlos's file was transferred from NBC to the Norfolk office. I was told this by a Tier 2 officer when I called after they had been sitting on his notice of potential interview waiver for over six months.

Now he has received an RFE from Norfolk because the vaccination record is incomplete. But they don't specify what is defective. We have no idea what is incomplete and whether it is in the document filled out by the panel physician in Bogota or the one filled out by the civil surgeon in Miami.

Also, we don't know if we should send in a newly completed form (the version has changed since we submitted in early 2015) or just the vaccination schedule.

How are you handling these issues?

Thanks,

Robert

Hi Robert,

What doctor did Carlos see in Bogota? We saw Dr. Dennis and he refused to complete the DS3025 (vaccination record). This could be what your RFE is for. It is what caused our entire issue.

When Luis had his physical, the doctor told him he would not fill it out because it wasn't "required" for K1. This is absolutely true. However, IT IS required to AOS. I tried telling the doctor this to no avail.

So our solution was that when Luis got here we would see a civil surgeon and have them complete the I-693. It clearly states in the instructions that K1 holders don't need another medical, all they need are parts 1, 2, 4, and 7 completed. So we did this. We got a RFE stating we sent in an incomplete 693. Well duh we did, because that's what the instructions say.

Clearly the officer working on our case doesn't know the AOS directions for K1.

So we went to a civil surgeon again, and dropped $300 to have the new complete medical again. We had to do this to satisfy the RFE. They have had our reply since 4/14/16, and we haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully they process it soon.

Let me know if you need anything else. Feel free to message me.

Cody
