I'm American and my fiance is Moroccan. He lives in Italy. I've been trying to contact the Moroccan consulate in Italy for days with no response. Maybe someone can help me. We want to get married in Italy. What documents will my Moroccan boo need? I want to eventually apply for the CR1 visa. Will this affect us if his visa has expired?? I really need some help guys!! Thanks!!

I would suggest contacting the Italian authorities first. After all you'll be getting married in Italy, under Italian law, so you need to be compliant with Italian laws and regulations. It's the Italians you should be asking these question, not the Moroccan embassy.

When I was getting married in Poland to my American husband, the American embassy was of no use at all.

CONSULATE:

Apr 26, 2016 - medical exam

May 10, 2016 - interview at the Embassy in Warsaw, Poland - result: APPROVED!

May 16, 2016 - visa in hand

POE:

Jul 23, 2016 - POE: Chicago O'Hare

NATURALIZATION:

Dec 16, 2019 - filed N-400 online

Feb 24, 2020 - naturalization interview in Phoenix, AZ

Mar 10, 2020 - naturalization oath ceremony in Phoenix, AZ
