Question About Documents For Santo Domingo Interview

i have a question. im getting all my documents ready for the interview. and the agency i did it with, gave me back only COPIES of the documents summited to the NVC ... Orignals were sent directly to NVC (idk why.) but my question is since i only have copies will it be okay ? OR will i have to get NEW original documents for the interview?...

btw in my interview letter it basically says that the marriage, & birth certificate is sent to the EMbassy by the NVC and that the only ORIGINAL we have to take is the Police Certifiate...

You will need originals (or certified copies) for the interview as well as photocopies of the same documents. Your agency did you wrong. I would try to get the certified copies as soon as possible.

The copies aree notarized(well in the translated ones.. so that means ima have to take out new originals.. she said she sent the originals to NVC....

I think the NVC send originals ONLY ... and I say ONLY, if the NVC requested originals. If they requested copies and you sent originals, you will need to get new originals. If they requested originals, they should be sending those down to the embassy.

If you look at the Codes listed on your interview letter, if it has a code of 2, J, A, S, then you need originals.

Before your interview at the Embassy, you need to obtain the following documents. You will need to present the requested documents at your interview at the U.S. Embassy. DO NOT send them to the Consular Section before your interview unless requested.

BIRTH CERTIFICATE: An original birth certificate (legalized by the Junta Central Electoral and in the en extensa format) for each applicant and for the petitioner. A birth certificate must be presented for each child under age 21, even if that person is not applying for a visa with you at this time. You must present the original birth certificate, translated in English, if the applicant was born in another country. The date/place of birth and the names of the parents must be shown on the birth certificate.

And then these 2 from the NVC web site:

"You will be required to present the original documents at your interview, along with a photocopy of each document."

4. Gather All Remaining Documents Required

You are required to obtain the original documents or certified copies, and one photocopy (with the exception of your passport and photographs) for yourself and each family member applying for a visa. If you were required to send original or certified copies of supporting documents to the NVC, the NVC will forward your documents to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate for your interview, together with your visa application. Review, Interview Preparation - Required Documents, as needed, and then ensure that you have collected all required documents.

Translated Documents - All documents not written in English or in the official language of the country in which the interview takes place must be accompanied by a translation in English. Translations must be certified by a competent translator.
