Hi,

A friend of mine who is totally clueless about immigration process sent a I130 for her 30 years old son. Then when she became a USC she sent another I 130 for the same son.

Do you know what happens with the first petition? For Mexico Both petitions take around 20 years to have visa availability.

So she missed the years gained with the first petitions as a LPR?

hi

she didn't need to, she has to withdraw the second petition

the only thing she needs to do is upgrade her status and that will change her son's category from F2B to F1, the priority date is maintained, her son only will change category. that doesn't make really a difference with Mexican children over 21

unless he got married while she was a LPR

hi

I'm not sure, if she has a phone number to the service center she can call,

or wait until the approved form is at the nvc, national visa center to call or email withdrawing the second petition
