So I found out about 3 weeks ago I had an RFE that was made on August 25th. My PD is April 7. I was told that the RFE was mailed out on August 25th, but I may not receive it since they normally don't send mail outside the US. But when I told her that I received the original NOA1 at my Egyptian residence, she then said that I should receive the RFE, and if I don't receive it by September 30th, then to call, and I can either have them mail the RFE to my US address (which I can't use at the moment as I'm not living there) or have it faxed to me.

I decided to wait it out and figured I'd receive it by Sept 25th as it usually take about a month to receive mail here from the US. Well I never did receive it; and I even contacted our mailman to see if he's received anything and for him to keep a lookout for any mail coming my way.

I called today and the tier 2 officer last named: 'Montiel' called me back, she told me that the 'system' only showed that the RFE was 'ordered' and not 'sent' and that she sent an inquiry (service request) to whoever is processing my case. I told her that I spoke with Alaverez 3 weeks ago, who said that I could request to have the RFE faxed. Montiel said she did not know about that and that she can only send a service request in regards to the RFE and if I do not hear anything by 20 days to call back  . She said I should receive an email that will notify me what I can do or what will happen next and then she hung up on me after reviewing what she told me and said - click. I suppose they are time limited.

:bonk: I'm just kind of at a loss for words.

Does anyone know how long it usually takes for them to respond to a service request?? If I don't receive any email by next week (giving them a full week to respond), should I call instead of waiting 20 days??

This is all just taking so much longer than I ever anticipated.. naively I thought we would be one of the lucky ones and our petition would be processed smoothly.. How wrong I've been.

I am so sorry you are getting the run around. That is so frustrating. Have you considered getting a Senator or Congressman involved? I know you're living abroad, but maybe they can help get you some answers.

Yes I'm thinking of getting them involved if I don't get a response by med next week. Thanks for all your support though. :)

So I have an update. I did a congression inquiry last week. We had been transferred from Potomac to NBC back in July to "speed up processing." I found out today my case was transferred from NBC to Philadelphia field office and is pending an interview date! My husband has a removal order so we are scared to death!!

Good afternoon, my case is April 8, 90% already have an approval, and I do not have anything, the last time I called USCIS, they say it's okay, and that has not delayed, I will wait until week come and send that form requesting a check, someone already did it? I see some people talking about calling the congressman, my husband is from Texas, we must seek this help now? my process is a CR1, may have problems with some congressman who is not a supporter of gay causes, or they must meet all equally ? (Sorry for the mistakes, I'm still using Google Translate)
