Hello!

First I'd like to say this website has been very helpful, and I've been able to find almost everything I was looking for.

Thank you!

I had a question about the interview in Manila.

Alohaspirit mentioned in a post that the interviewers will ask for original tax documents during the interview.

Which tax documents are considered original?

I really don't know what to include.

Also, there going to ask her for my 2006 tax return info, and my wife was saying that they won't except it if it hasn't been approved by the IRS.

I've prepared my taxes, but I needed to file a tax Id number for her, in order for the process to be complete.

Her interview date is March 29th, and I haven't sent the paprwork to the IRS to be processed yet.

She's really nervous about this, and even told be she wants to push back the interview date until my taxes are finished.

I really don't see the point in waiting another six months for her to get an interview since it's been 2 years already!

I'm really at a loss here, because I don't know what the Embassy in Manila will except.

when I filed, all I send them were my tax transcripts from the past 3 years.

Because I haven't filed for my taxes yet, will they not grant her a visa?

please help

thank you. :help:

ALL the original tax documents are sent to the IRS, you do not have any ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS. However you do have W-2 from 2006, even if you haven't filed yet. Send those to her along with last years taxes and the other info about your employment or self-employment and that should suffice. They are simply trying to make sure you have enough money or make enough money to support her, so that she will not go on welfare. As long as you make enough money and you have the W-2's you should be fine, but get it out very soon because you don't have much time.

I agree with you, go to the interview, no matter what. At the worst they would put you on AR and give you time to get the documents to them. That would probably be 2 months or less that you would have to wait for her visa. My suggestion is, do not postpone or cancel the interview no matter what. IMHO that is the worst thing you could do.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

One other thing, the IRS does not approve or disapprove of any filings that I'm aware of.

I think she is just freaking out, try to calm her down a bit.

They will accept tax transcripts, that you can order for free from the IRS.

http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq1-6.html

They follow the requirements of the I-864 Form.

25. Federal Income Tax Information.

You must provide either an IRS transcript or a photocopy from your own records of your Federal individual income tax return for the most recent tax year. If you believe additional returns may help you to establish your ability to maintain sufficient income, you may submit transcripts or photocopies of your Federal individual income tax returns for the three most recent years. (Page 8 of the I-864 form instructions)
