Does your wife have legal residence in Canada right now?

Everything can be done via email. They do not need to mail anything but occasionally they mail the nvc welcome package as well as email it.

She lives at the University campus. She can stay there till September after which she needs to move to a different apartment. We are hoping to get everything done by August.

If everything can be done via email that would be awesome. I thought the interview letter will be a mail sent by the Montreal consulate so was worried

Either way I will tell her to direct all her mail to a mailbox at the Canada post office when she visits me.

No the P4 is an email and is also sent by the NVC when you get the interview date. Keep in mind that with a visitor visa she can't interview in Canada but with a student visa she can.

Also Montréal is EP (electronic processing) so nothing needs to be snail mailed if you choose.

Btw im horrible at typing on my phone.

not a problem but you provide valuable information

yes she is on a student visa

about montreal being EP

that means can we send out aos and IV packages like that , i mean scan everything and mail them ?

where can i select that option for electronic processing ?

also i am thinking the nvc process will be faster when we send everything via email correct ?

Yes you can scan and email everything. As to being faster, sometimes it is and sometimes it's not. You do have to pick one method or the other and you select it by just sending your docs.

Only certain countries can do electronic processing. Honduras is not one of them, unfortunately. Your wife will have to mail things to the NVC via regular mail. Although she can get the forms online.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

They will send YOU email, but you must mail documents and the forms (ds-261 and ds-260) are online. The I-864 is a downloaded form that is printed and mailed by the petitioner. So she can scan and email you the copies of the documents you can print and send for the IV package. Because they only need copies and she takes originals to interview anyhow.

As mentioned only specific countries currently can email documents to the NVC. The list is on the NVC website.

Looking at another thread EP takes about 7-14 days so right now its signifigantly faster.

Well I'll be doing the mailing. If I'm not mistaken the only extra paper is the police certificate? For the AOS and IV packets right? I'm going back in a few months anyways.

But I was referring to the welcome packets. Theycan come by email right?

Yep. I have all that. We needed all it and more to actually get married so I have a folder with everything already except the PCC.
