if NVC is closed on the weekends...

so im planning to send my documents today via usps express mail which will get there tomorrow- saturday ( i work weekends) and nvc is close on the weekends, when the mail gets there who receives it? im just worried it might get lost

_{express deliver for Monday delivery. save money. they wont deliver when no one is there they will take it back to the shiping location and deliver the next day their open which would be Monday.}

Our packet arrived on a Saturday, but since they were closed, it went back to the post office and was delivered on Monday.

P.S. We never felt express was really worth it during the process as priority mail from our location was always a two day service to wherever we needed to send things and was significantly cheaper.

express you get tracking. I know it doesn't happen often but sometimes things get lost. so with this important information its always better to be safe then sorry and I think I only paid so little to get it there express

It means that if they say it will take 2 days for your packet to get from point A to point B and it actually gets there in 3 or 4 days... well then that's it, you have no recourse to get compensation because the delivery was late since the stated delivery date is not guaranteed. FWIW, I've sent loads of stuff priority over the five years I was in the US and I've never had issues with that.

up to you. I think I paid the 20 something dollars. if you have 23 dollars pay it . if not pay the 8.

i chose the priority mail, paid 8$.. expected delivery on monday plus i can track it

I have to look it up what I did, but I did the cheapest method with tracking and verified signature. I knew the process would take a couple of months. A few days more in the beginning was not going to matter (but then things changed when December came around and time ended up the enemy). But yea, I did that method to send it. Forget if it were priority, express, priority express, or by a magic carpet ride.

Go FedEx. U.S. Postal Service is worthless. I had Priority (with tracking and guarantee) and they lost my package. And they weren't concerned at all. In fact, they offered me a refund and asked me to try again. I declined. Have never sent anything via U.S. Postal Service again.
