I paid the IV fee today. Bit of confusion with the A# and MNL#....then I saw to add a 0 in front of the A# if it was less than 9 digits. The MNL# on her passport was a digit or 2 too long. I found some saved documents with her MNL# and I was good to go. The Immigrant summary was missing.....(I think my wife lost it...grrrr)

The SSN is a little more confusing. The document she brought with her said IF we did not request an SSN when we applied, or IF you are under age 18, we must go to the local SSN office and get one. I'll wait a couple of weeks, then head there. Gives me a reason to take a vacation day.

SS cards are not automatically sent for minor dependents regardless of what you checked on her application DS-260(???).

You have to apply in person at a SS office to get hers. If I remember correctly her passport with CR-2 visa is the proof they will need.

By the way nothing 'magically appears' when dealing with our government until fees are paid, haha.

Also did your daughter arrive on a CR-2 or K-2 visa? If CR-2 her IV fees would have been paid by you during the NVC portion of her journey. If K-2 they should have been paid in Manila just like your wife's K-1 earlier.

Just updating...I was set to have to go to the SS office, but lo and behold, her SS card arrived on Friday. We're all set...just waiting for the GC to make the slow journey through the government and to our mailbox!!!
