Please help me review the check list below for I130 application

And i have a question regarding to birth certificate:

My wife and I both have our last copy of birth certificate (notarial certificate as we were born in a county having no birth certificate). Do we need to submit this notarial certificate? Or a copy of it will work? I think my wife need another birth certificate for her I485 AOS. And it is a little hard to get a new one soon (need to get it in our home country) though the waiting time for the AOS approval will be a couple of years.

I130 checklist:

1. Personal Check for $420

2. Filled Forms

a. I130

b. G325A -- me

c. G325A – my wife

d. G1145A

3. Photos

a. One for me

b. One for my wife

4. Proof of Marriage:

a. Marriage Certificate (Official and Decoration)

b. Decree of Dissolution and Findings of Fact And Conclusions of Law

(my previous marriage)

c. Statutory Warranty Deed (of housing property)

d. Joint Accounts (bank, utility bill, vehicle insurance and credit card)

e. Beneficial Documents of Life Insurance and Retirement Plan

f. Supporting Letters from Friends

g. Marriage Related Photos

h. Diagnosis of Pregnancy (baby expected in 2016)

5. Identity Documents

a. Mine

i. Copy of Green Card

ii. I797 Welcome Notice

iii. Passport (all pages)

iv. Birth Certificate

v. Driver License

b. My wife’s

i. I94 (TN Visa)

Your I-130 checklist seems good to me. About your birth certificates, I am not sure I understand exactly what you mean by notorial certificate. But for all the documents you submit, you need to only submit COPIES not originals. In my case, my wife's birth certificate is in another language and was translated and the translation was certified. So we submitted a copy of the original birth certificate and a copy of the certified translation.

Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot for the reply, along with another thread.

For all documents, you submit copies unless otherwise stated. If you send the original they will not return it to you.

Your wife's birth certificate is not needed for the I-130 (nor her passport nor her I-94 nor her driver's license). Your birth certificate is also not needed (nor your passport nor your driver's license); the only thing that is needed is a proof of your permanent residency which only your green card, and none of the other things, prove.

Thanks a lot on your comments. Fully agree with you, i provided more documents than required. However, I intend to do so since i want to give all possible information to identify ourselves and the marriage. I hope at least it does not hurt us.

And i have received the NOA1.

Would you like to comment my other post a bit? I concern a little more about that.
