4 months of meds without your name on all of the bottles in your carry on, is a red flag. Take a few weeks in your carry on, put the rest in a ziploc bag in your checked bag. When I carry medicine in my carry on bag, they look at the bottles. In my checked bag, no problems.

^^ I agree with this. I would carry the rest in bottles with your name on them just in case. Better to be safe than sorry. I just traveled back and forth to JA with meds in my carry on without problem. (short stay no checked luggage) But I did not have a 4 month supply nor were they narcotics.

If you are on insulin although liquid its allowed in carry on.

are you migrating? I think 90 days allowed but I don't believe

its a big deal unless the medicine falls under narcotics

Insulin needles must be in check on , a person is allowed

a single syringe on board must be declared and its good

to have a doctors letter

Get the prescription form from the pharmacist or the doctor , just in case. I have had to open my luggage one time at the airport for airport agents because someone ahead of me coming from the same area had agricultural product in his bag...lol..

And remember... If there is any kind of medicine which is a syrup, drops or any kind of liquid, don´t bring it in a bottle bigger than 100ml... At the airport they don´t allow you have on your carry on, before the X-ray any kind of liquids in a bottle bigger than that, even with the prescription. And don´t forget! Bottles with more than 100ml but just a few liquid inside are NOT accepted! :) Capsules, once with the prescription are ok, and is better don´t take ALL in your carry on... it really makes a red flag. Ah, and have together all the package leaflets from each medicine too. It´s not necessary a doctor letter once he had to do the prescriptions already.

(I work as a doctor at the international airport, so I know very well these rules...)

Guess you should read the TSA info about medical liquids exemption.

If this is any help I brought over 6 months of heart medication when I travelled from Australia to the U.S.

I took what I needed in my carry on luggage and put the rest in my checked in baggage. Never was this an issue.

Good Luck

Guess you should read the TSA info about medical liquids exemption.

True. I've just returned from NZ. My Husband takes gengraf in the liquid form as an anti rejection medication. Liquid medicine is exempt from the 100ml limit.

Further to that, he had 14 other bottles of medicine and insulin, and other than opening the top of his bag to look, no questions asked. All of the bottles are marked with his name, and I had a printout that listed them all. I did not take a Dr letter. He was fine, leaving and returning to the USA.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I have traveled back and forth to Jordan 7 times and many domestic flights with many prescription meds(some narcotics because I am on pain management for Lupus and rheumatoid arthritis) and no one has even glanced at them. I always keep them in my purse and it goes through the x ray machine, But my bottles are always labeled. Then again you are coming here for th first time with a new visa. I will say that when my hubby arrived from Jordan with his cr-1 he had a few prescription meds with him in his carry on that were not labeled with the prescribing doctor, it was just the boxes the meds were packaged in(pharmacies in Jordan do not label prescription meds, no idea why) and they didn't look at them.

Thank you for the link!

I was interesting to read that.

But TSA don´t work for Jamaica, and this things that I wrote can cover all over the world, once TSA rule doesn´t work to leave Jamaica.

To arrive in US TSA is great, but to leave her place... nope.

At the same way, thank you back again!

;)

It will work. As others have said, they have exited various countries around the world, with no problem. Clearing customs for entry into the USA means the rules for entry into the USA apply. I've just done this less than 1 month ago.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I have traveled with my prescription medications several times as well; to and from Bahrain. I keep them in a zip log bag in my purse. The last time I was in Bahrain, I became very very sick. I couldn't hold my head up, and I was flying back to the US that evening. So we went to a pharmacy. Little did I know, the pharmacies there give prescription medication without a prescription. So I took the medicine, and put it in my purse. I took a few of the pills here and there on the way back to keep from being so sick. The medicine didn't have my name on it, and I kept it in my purse. I assumed it was a brand of Imodium AD or something for nausea. So when I got back into the US I got home about a week later and just started thinking about that medication. So I looked it up on google. Come to find out it was a medication that is banned here in the US, and I could've been in HUGE trouble. I will never make the mistake of taking medicine from a pharmacy in a foreign country again, before checking into it.
