As long as the bottles have your name on them, they are fine. Put them in your checked bag.

I was planning to put them in my hand luggage because I thought they would be safer with me incase baggage lost or delay...so please tell me your thoughts as to why you suggest checking the meds in.

4 months of meds without your name on all of the bottles in your carry on, is a red flag. Take a few weeks in your carry on, put the rest in a ziploc bag in your checked bag. When I carry medicine in my carry on bag, they look at the bottles. In my checked bag, no problems.

Honestly, prescription-strength vitamins, oral contraceptive or statins to lower cholesterol will be seen differently than narcotics. No need to say what your meds are on here, but if is pain medicine and/or psycho-something (sleep, stimulant, anti-depressant, etc.), I strongly suggest you ask the pharmacist to label all bottles and take them with you in the cabin. Cargo luggage gets wet and mushy all the time.

And remember... If there is any kind of medicine which is a syrup, drops or any kind of liquid, don´t bring it in a bottle bigger than 100ml... At the airport they don´t allow you have on your carry on, before the X-ray any kind of liquids in a bottle bigger than that, even with the prescription. And don´t forget! Bottles with more than 100ml but just a few liquid inside are NOT accepted! :) Capsules, once with the prescription are ok, and is better don´t take ALL in your carry on... it really makes a red flag. Ah, and have together all the package leaflets from each medicine too. It´s not necessary a doctor letter once he had to do the prescriptions already.

(I work as a doctor at the international airport, so I know very well these rules...)

I´LL START TO LIVE BACK AGAIN WHEN I´LL BE ON MY HUBBY´S ARMS, FOREVER AND EVER. UNTIL THERE, I DON´T LIVE. I SURVIVE. (L)

I always travel with medicin since I have epilepsy. I have it in my check in bag and then I have some with me on my carry on in case the other get lost or delayed since I need it. I also carry a note in english saying that i have this medication, how much I take and blah blah ...

BUT I have never had any question about it at all, and I a lot with me when I stayed there 8 weeks late summer.

I plan on bringing medication for the 6-12 months I'm there so I don't have to deal with that on top of the move also.

All mine have my name on it and if I were you I would go back and get my name on all the bottles you need to bring just in case.
