Hi All,

I forgot to ask this in my last post so i have to start a new post about it.

I checked the timelines for this question and I have a pretty good idea but I want to make sure.

So once you submit your ROC packet, as far as i can see, they send out the NOA latest within a week. One, does it take longer than this? and is it this NOA that extends the validity of the GC for year or is it a separate document that they mail later on? If for some reason we don't get the NOA within a week, can we do an info pass to get the i551 i think its called, stamped on the passport rather than wait for the NOA to come if it takes longer than usual?

And second question is some had their biometrics scheduled within a month, some sooner but nothing longer than a month. What happens if we miss the biometric appointment or if we know we're gonna miss it? Can we reschedule it ahead of time, or can we do a walk in for the bios as soon as we get the NOA rather than wait for the schedule letter?

And lastly, if we were to be elected for an interview, how soon after do they let you know of the extension letter that you have to come in for an interview and how far off do they set the interview date usually?

I ask these because my husband has to travel outside the country just around the time his card expires, so i want to arrange the paperwork so that he gets the NOA/extension letter just in time to travel but not too early so they end up scheduling the interview/bios while his gone. He will only be gone for 3 weeks the longest, not too long but I don't want to piss the people off by having to reschedule anything. Thats why i was hoping maybe as soon as we get the NOA/extension letter, we can go for the bios right away, and hope that we either don't get an interview or not get scheduled for it while he is not here.

Thank you all,

If for some reason we don't get the NOA within a week, can we do an info pass to get the i551 No, do not call if all you've wait is just a week i think its called, stamped on the passport rather than wait for the NOA to come if it takes longer than usual Yes, please wait?

And second question is some had their biometrics scheduled within a month, some sooner but nothing longer than a month Not quite true. There have been some with wanted more than a month to receive their biometrics appointment and/or letter. What happens if we miss the biometric appointment or if we know we're gonna miss it You can reschedule once you have the letter in hand? Can we reschedule it ahead of time, or can we do a walk in for the bios as soon as we get the NOA rather than wait for the schedule letter No, you cannot pre-emptively do the biometrics as soon as you have the NOA without a valid reason. ?

And lastly, if we were to be elected for an interview, how soon after do they let you know of the extension letter that you have to come in for an interview It really depends. Although most happen after receiving and RFE and can be scheduled months from the receipt of your application and how far off do they set the interview date usually?
