Sen. ####### Durbin (D-IL) has introduced S. 774 The DREAM ACt of 2007, that grants in-state tuition and amnesty to illegal aliens under the age of 21 who have been physically present in the country for five years and are in college, have a high school diploma or a GED. Such a reward for illegal immigration serves as an incentive for more illegal immigration.

Ask your Senator to Oppose the DREAM Act amnesty.

I'm waiting for the predictable bleeding heart replies from the open borders folks. College going illegals will not be scubbing your floors, they will be taking your jobs.

I don't see what's so bleeding heart about this. It allows kids who came to this country WITHOUT CHOOSING TO DO SO to go to college. They're not leaving, let them get educated. It's already dayum expensive.

Nobody is saying Joe Schmoe who crosses the border at age 25 gets to go to college the next day.

What difference does this make? We should just make 'em ALL legal anyway.

Children. They might have come here at age 6. Do you really think they are any less American than a child who comes here legally at 6? Do you want to deport people who identify as Americans and want to go to college? Their parents committed the "crime," not them.

You know in a college environment, there are many who shouldn't be there. That includes US citizens. A college or University is designed to provide open discussion of ideas, and learning new ideas. How would you be able to promote wondrous events in the world such a cures for TB, smallpox, MMR, Hep B, etc...without the sharing of ideas. I believe in education for everyone because it does such things like that. For anyone who don't believe in college or University promoting world innovation and future problem solving, I feel sorry for you. It's these collection of ideas that also reduces violence, and promote world piece. You, and I are no different. We learned how to be civil because we are educated. We debate things, but, do we use fist to fist action to settle things? No. We come to our own realization whether it's right or wrong.

Because of this, I believe no matter illegals or legals; everyone deserves a chance to education.

Yes, I do. They shouldn't have been here illegally long enough to get to college age in the first place. State tuition is reserved for a few spaces. You want your kids to have to compete with illegals? Don't you have any self-interests or is it all about someone else's needs?

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

It's easier to think about this complex issue if you just group them all as "the illegals," isn't it, GEG?

Public education is about everyone getting a chance, or at least it was before tuition began rising. Since you can only think about this issue from a selfish two-dimensional perspective, don't you think it's in a society's best interest to educate its poorest elements? Those kids are not realisiically leaving the country.
